About Me
Jonathan Lovett is an image maker and artist based between Salt Lake City, New York, and Los Angeles. Lovett holds a BFA in photography from Parsons School of Design and is currently an MFA candidate at Mason Gross School of the Arts, Rutgers. Lovett's work seamlessly weaves together the personal narrative with the collective queer consciousness. Using the visual language of time, body, and place Lovett explores ideas of queer becoming, expanded conceptions of ecology, and faith. Using the photograph as a mode of world building and a place of refuge, Lovett sculpts a world of queer belonging, kinship, and reciprocity.
Lovett has shown work in exhibitions in Los Angeles, Miami, New York City, and Paris. They are a YoungArts alumni of 2019 and was semi-finalist in the Presidential Scholar for the Arts competition. He has been featured by publications such as GAY TIMES, Lomography, and Photographers Without Borders Magazine. They are open to any assignment and client work, please email for inquiries.
